Abstract

Today, inventory management issue has become a concern for a lot of organizations and it is the most necessary issues for organizations by production and inventory plan implementing. Among inventory models, models based on economic production quantity are of the most practical models. Each of the economic production quantity is based on set of parameters that are estimated by experts and decision makers. Since uncertainty exists in real world, it is difficult for experts to estimate parameters, accurately. Therefore, in such situation, using economic production quantity under non-integer conditions would be more appropriate than the crisp conditions and also under such conditions organizations have to determine their cumulative production in their supply chain in fuzzy sense. In this paper, a multi-product economic production quantity (EPQ) model, under fuzzy conditions, has been fuzzified and optimized by using signed distance method in order to minimize all costs. a numerical example and sensitivity analysis have also provided to illustrate the practical use of the proposed method.

Abstract

In the airline business nowadays the competition between airlinesis very tight. The decision of pricing of an airline will affect significantly the demand and revenue of other airlines. This study develops a model of Airline Revenue Management (ARM). We build an ARM model under competitive environment. The model considers the change of the competitor’s ticket for two parallel flights and should be made based on time and seat inventory. Specifically, we develop a model of dynamic programming to obtain the optimal ticket price based on the remaining seats, the rest of the time, as well as changes in competitors' ticket prices in order to generate maximum revenue expectation. This study conducted a series of numerical experiment scenarios to demonstrate the behavior of the model to the revenue expectation.

Abstract

Scheduling changes on the production floor are common in practice to meet the consumer demand and these cause the nervousness. The nervousness in turn will result in increased costs and reduced service level. This research deals with  production batch size and buffer stock taking into account changes in a preliminary order. Change in the demand for a given day is announced one day before and this is viewed as it occurs randomly. This research was considered in two echelon supply chain system with a single supplier and single manufacturer. The development of model is transactional relationship and consignment stock contract relationship. This study also considers the backorder and production capacity according to the real condition. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the performance of the models. From the numerical results, it appears that coefficient variation (CV) of the demand affects the results obtained using method of SM and LUC.

Abstract

Implementation EntERPrise Resource Planning (ERP) requires user key to have a reliable competency especially in personnel management. For this study, a survey was conducted using interviews technique and distributing questionnaires to 80 manufacturing industry practitioners, with response rate 88.75%. Additionally, the data analysis was done using PLS with Jawa Web Start program. The findings of the research are: There is no influence between knowledge and skill in quality performance and innovation performance in improving the performance of the company while implementing the technology of ERP. Personality Characteristics affect the increase of quality performance and innovation in the improvement of the company's performance while implementing ERP technology. Demonstrable Performance effect the increase in the quality of performance and innovation in improving the company's performance while implementing ERP technology. Innovation performance and Quality performance together have a direct impact on enhancing the performance of companies while implementing ERP technology.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one’s job and job experiences. The happier the individual, the higher is level of job satisfaction. It is assumed that positive attitude towards work and greater organizational commitment increases job satisfaction which in return enhances performance of the individual. Based on this phenomenon, this study is aimed to explain and empirically test the effect of attitude toward work, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment to the employee’s job performance at PT. Intech Anugrah Indonesia (PT. Intech). Data used in this study was primary data which were collected through closed questionnaires with 1-5 Likert scale. A sample of this study was 200 managerial and non-managerial staff of PT. Intech. Research carried out by using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) which was run by AMOS 20.0 program. The results of this study showed that attitude towards work have positive but not significant effect to job satisfaction and employee performance. Different with attitude towards work, the organization's commitment has positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and employee performance at PT. Intech. It means every improvement in organization’s commitment has a positive effect toward job satisfaction and employee performance at PT. Intech.

Abstract

The selection of supplier is a strategic decision in supply chain which increase competitive advantages. Every manufacture needs to have a standard supplier selection that appropriate with the requirement of the company. The aims of this paper are promoting some criterias of supplier selection and testing whether there are differences interests against priority criteria referred to of strata tenure distinct. Weights and priorities of the criteria tested with a method of analytic network process (ANP) are also intended to bring up a relation of mutual influence among the criteria. ANP can be used to help making decision of selection supplier and to manage supply chain performance. This paper shows the criteria that influence are the past perfomance, price, communication systems, and a supplier of professionalism is the priority for the production of the company. In the other hand, the importance of management is the delivery time, consistent quality, price, and number of delivery. The difference in perspective is influenced by the level of interest and different responsibilities. The difference this assessment formed the basis of decision-making and strategic policies of the supply chain according to the condition of the company.

Abstract

Manual materials handling has been identified as the most common cause of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Among the manual material handling activities, lifting has long been regarded as an activity associated with a high risk of low-back pain. Lifting studies have mainly focused on the squat and stoop lifting techniques as an effort to improve the protection of workers from low back discomfort. However, neither is ideal and the benefits of one technique over another have proved inconclusive. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare the squat and stoop lifting techniques through analysis of muscles activation by using electromyography. Six volunteers participated in the study, and were required to lift a weight with squat and stoop techniques, with two types of loading at 1,7 kg and 6,7 kg. Observations were made on the rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and multifidus muscles. The results of study showed that the squat technique had higher levels of muscle activation compared to stoop technique on rectus femoris muscle. On the contrary, squat technique had lower muscle activation compared to stoop technique on biceps fermoris muscle. Meanwhile, both techniques squat and stoop had the same level of muscle activation on multifidus muscle. Conclusion, squat and stoop lifting techniques had the same opportunities to use.
